I have an image dynamics 12 sub that I like. All the reviews I have read on the ID component speakers are they sound great and have loads of midbass. I haven't read any negative reviews on hertz. Focal is another. Some don't care them because they tend to be a little bright (sharp treble). I have a 3 way component set of CDT's. They are the HD series and are power hungry. Sound really clear but not as loud as I thought they would get for having 220 rms/side. It maybe that without the distortion you don't notice just how loud it is.
