Ever since then i have always washed the car (with optimum power clean, theres many others to use as well) after polishing. Its pretty amazing what you cant see through polishing oils/fillers. I use mainly menzerna polishes (SIP, 106 and 85rd) and i know all polishes arent created equal.
Also after adding this step to my process my OS and OCW seem to be lasting quite a bit longer.
I know this may seem a little OCD but since we are posting in a detailing section we are probably all OCD in one way or another...

I only use Menzerna polishes as well and they do have more oils in them that make them last longer before breaking down... but I also usually use Klasse all in one when finished polishing too and that has a cleaner and supposedly a very very mild abrasive in it, though it's never done much for scratches with me.
Some waxes and sealants just hide holograms very well.. I don't know why but they do and then after those first few washes you were talking about take the oils off the car and there they are!
