I can see if you are buying the car to build as track or race car getting a base model but I don't see any other reason not to get the sports package. Its a great value - just the wheels and tires alone are close to the cost of the package not to mention the bigger brakes (over half the cost of the package) as well as the looks/performance of the additional aerodynamics. The SRM is likely a big resale feature. Speaking of resale the Sports package items will enhance the value of the car unlike adding aftermarket parts which tends to devalue a car at times... sports is a no-brainer unless you are building up from a base platform.
