There might be an OEM or aftermarket module you can get so that your lights will go on automatically when the parking brake is released. In Canada, DRL are mandatory, and that operates through the headlights. I know some will argue, well that'll decrease the life of the headlights, but this mandatory requirement has been around for at least 25 years, and there hasn't been any reports of more frequent headlight replacement.
