It's a sad day and age when a man needs permission to spend HIS money on what HE wants to own.
I'm a big believer in keeping finances separate when entering marriage, and just having a joint checking for day to day purchases that both Husband and Wife contribute a percentage of their check into.
If only the husband is working, he should only have to put a percentage of his check into the joint account, the rest should go into his own pocket.
Working at the bank the amount of guys I've seen get totally fvcked over by lazy useless wives while the guys are busting their balls every day is incredible.

Amen on the separate finances and a sad day. Most of my married friends pool all their earnings in one joint account and then decide on where to spend it, what I mean is, where the wife wants to spend it
.
I bought my car on impulse as well and don't regret it at all, I came home and the wife immediately said WOW did you just buy that? Yepper, the next words out of her mouth were, take me for a spin! She never once mentioned that I left her one week old Lexus at the dealership 75 miles away until afterwards! We simply drove back to the dealership to pick it up.
Now she has the "me too" syndrome and wants to trade in her Lexus (2,000 miles) to get an Infiniti G37 Convertible
, stating "your Z is just so sexy looking and I want a sexy fast car too
". Be careful what you wish for...
