just had my 5.0 totaled with less $$$ damage than they quoted you for your repairs. (and not nearly as a bad area, all rear).
Your % for salvage is determined by your state. sounds like yours is 70% if that's what your adjustor said.
Second you need to call your adjuster and tell him you want it declared a total loss. IF YOU DO NOT DO THIS YOU STAND A STRONG CHANCE OF NOT GETTING IT TOTALED.
The way it works for the adjuster when it's right on that fence is that they realize they'll have to continue going back, authorizing more repairs, etc etc. If you simply request it, I can just about guarantee you'll get the total.
