This probably has less to do with the car brand than how you use it. If you plan to track your car or drive enthusiastically, you probably want to swap the brake lines for teflon/stainless steel. That will do two things: 1. it will preserve your brake fluid since there is very lttile water uptake with the teflon/stainless lines, and 2. change the fluid for a good quality DOT 4 or DOT 5.1 (never use DOT 5).

In terms of when to change it, with the rubber brake lines, probably yearly is a good idea. With the teflon/stainless lines, I don't know, but if you track the car, then probably every 20k or so.
