I can't say aftermarket intakes are a waste (well, the SRI are), but you aren't going to see crazy awesome gains from them unless they're you're first mod. Whatever your first mod is on this car, nets the most whp and then you kinda just nickle and dime your way up as far as you can.

In other words, you'll hear folks say "I got 18 whp from my xyz CAI". That may be true if it's their first mod, but if they do CBE, test pipes or LTH and THEN add a CAI, they'll only net maybe 6-8 whp instead, but their CBE combo might have added over 20+whp to their car.

Also, make sure that whatever CAI you get isn't gaining power partly by leaning out your AFR vs. true gains from better/more air flow.

The stock intake is a CAI, it has a section that extends out of the engine compartment to grab cold air from behind the bumper.
