Yes, you missed the elephant in the room. The Gt-R is not about horsepower and straightline speed. It's about handling and cornering. You have a very fast shifting double clutch gearbox, along with a highly sophisticated electronically controlled AWD system. That's why the GT-R can keep up with ferraris and lamborghinis and corvettes that have way more power and way less weight. A forced induction 370z can produce the same power as a GT-R but it still lacks the gearbox and AWD system that helps the GT-R go so fast on a track.

Maintenance costs are very high on the GT-R. But you have to keep in mind that this car is considered a supercar. All supercars have high maintenance costs. What are the maintenance costs on a 911 turbo, a ferrari 430, or a lambo gallardo for example? How would they compare to the GT-R?

If both cars are the same price I'd get the GT-R. Yeah its more boring to drive on the street, but I'm pretty sure its a blast to drive on a track.
