Default Turn Signals and Parking Light

Temporary product page added to first post. Since the CinCity headlights, I see various LED mods. I chose to keep it simple by maintaining the same design, but differentiate myself from others with the turn signal array, parking light implementation, and choice of LEDs.

There are various implementations for the turn signal section:
  • 40x SuperFlux PCB + Projector Lens (Sick, but risk of sun damage like mine.)
  • 40x SuperFlux PCB + OEM Lens or Acrylic Diffuser (Better way to go...)
  • 3x High Power LED with Carlco diffuser (~600-750 mA)

I grabbed a projector lens from the broken headlight and drew the LED array. They one upped my design by building a small LED driver in place of the resistors (my lazy design). Also, the PCB can be painted black or "chrome." The example you see here is the "chrome" finish for something close to OEM look. If you opt for the 3x high power LED, it will be a plug in bulb, but you may want to splice the turn signal wire for the LED driver. MS Paint FTW! :P

You guys might like the parking light. It's a permanent mod, though since I wanted to imitate an OEM look. There might be room for a 3x LED board on a heat sink, but I opted for 1 Luxeon Rebel (handles up to 750mA, but we're only pushing 150 mA). The Carlco bubble lens is pretty sweet. It's like a plastic dome that sits over the small LED and diffuses the light sideways. As a result, it "fills" the parking light reflector. It's a bit cleaner than my old 194 bulb. There's also a driver for it as well pushing 150 mA.

It's a conservative setup. I managed to get one of these off DealExtreme:

At 100 mA, this thing is already seriously freaking bright. It can handle up to 3000mA. If our cars had good looking functional fog projectors, I'd slap these babies on.
