thats about right. my 2010 purchased new cost me over 500 for registration. the registration fees vary by state. for california at least, the governator raised our registration something like 20% before he left office in an attempt to cut the budget deficit.

my Z cost 500+, and my 2006 corolla cost me something like ~250. its ridiculous! i have friends who register their cars in other states to avoid paying the steep costs in california. (their cars were purchased out of state, and their parents still live out of state)
