ok, your fail rate doesn't equate to ACTUAL trends... there was an admitted 25-30% failure rate for xbox... ps3 is sitting at around 2% which is still below the average for consumer electronics...
I had a launch day xbox last me till last year... so I was a lucky one, but I know first had a few guys in my shop that went through 3 or 4..
I downloaded 2 games of > 2GBs as fast as I would on my computer...
and streaming.. while yes, it has to do with the software somewhat, it also has to do with your internet connection... I have watched plenty of movies on my PS3 without lag or interruptions, I can say the same for my XBL...
as for game play, in my personal case, both are the same.. only XBL has voice chat, which.... i never use... so.. to me, they are the same
