whooaaa, seems like you caught the long end of the stick. 1.5%apr whooaaa. was that some kind of incentive? my local dealer said no incentives and the bank down the road typically does 4.99% with credit scores >700. dont know how the dealership a few hours away is going to come at me, maybe ill just go to bank of america or something and see what they can do.
this is what they told me.
he said that if he had it on the lot he could probably give it to me for 32K OTD. but he said because he has to get it from another dealer he probably wouldnt be able to do that. but then he said that if i didnt have a problem with having it driven down here then maybe we could do something around that price. but with freight then maybe im looking at 32.5k [well his second quote was 32,943 OTD, but i was thinking 32.5k ]
Thanks

I do not know what kind of incentive they were offering. They ran my background first and told me 5%. I told them no and to close the deal because I can get financing in GA for much less than 5%. There was a radio deal that said you can get an auto loan for 1.9% if you have excellent credit (which I have). The finance accountant asked me what I would like, I told him I can get it for 1.5% and expected him to give me a rebuttal. He did not and I won.
All in all it was a huge success. To be honest, the Z was not even on the top of my list to get. I originally wanted an Lotus Exige (used) or an Cayman S (used). The Z was #3. I went on a Thursday in October 2010 so they had some of the 2011's already and wanted to reduce their inventory. I went on a slow day (which I find to be easier for negotiations, also when it's raining) and I already knew what I wanted to pay. I was totally ready to walk and I was actually pleased that they did not let me.
Good luck on your buy. Stay firm on your price and sooner or later you will get it. Just be ready to walk away.
