maybe they just didnt plug a wheel speed sensor back in... you should at least pop the wheels off and take a little peek at the wheel speed sensors and make sure they are installed and plugged in.

what you are describing though does remind me a lot of what happens if you disconnect the steering shaft and put it back in incorrectly and the steering wheel angle sensor is reading wrong. the car knows if you are driving straight from watching the wheel speed sensors, and if the steering wheel angle sensor says not straight, but the wheel speeds say straight, or vice versa... you get the xmas tree of lights. had this happen on my 350z. although i cannot fathom any reason they would have been playing with your steering shaft for the work you mentioned, so very unlikely.
