Ok granted, on a cold start, yes it is LOUD and proud, but after 30 seconds it quiets down, and after a minute it quiets down even less than with HFCs. It stunned me as well. But it's true. At highway speeds you barely hear it, and then when you Want to hear it (
you get on it), you will.
But it is not at all obnoxious or ridiculously loud as one would think. They did a very good job with these.
