I did and it doesn't pull the sound to the back. You'd have to jack all of the controls to the back and reduce in the front to get that kind of imbalance. I HATED only have the front speakers because if felt completely imbalanced. By putting in the rears I got the "full" kind of sound that I want. Of course there are massive EQ controls on the Kenwood that I have, so you can get a real good balance.
