I wouldnt put the Shelby or GTR in "supercar" catigory. Im not saying that they cant keep up with some supercars but I will argue that with parked next to a true supercar anyone can tell the difference.
A supercar is a car that people buy for status. I come from a 3rd world country and having a car that is automatic, has air condition, and has windows is considered a supercar because it gives you status that says "Look at me, I'm better off than the majority of the population." Owning a Ford Mustang there is an example.
