+1 Risky business there.
I've made transactions like this before. If it was a local bank we all went to the nearest branch and had the transaction at the bank, and the title was transferred to me along with the car at that time.
When I sold my SRT6 Crossfire, the buyer had to fly in from Virginia, so we did all of the funding at my local Chase and he drove the car home. Signed BOS and other legal paperwork protected us that the transactions had been made. The title had to be mailed to me first from Chase, so I could sign it, then I mailed it to the new buyer. But the bank was basically the middle man.
