I have 5mm spacers on the rear right now, and you can only get 5 turns of the lugnuts. (With 8 being optimal, 7 being 'safe') So I constantly make sure they are torqued properly. I need to get a set of extended lugs myself, but I'm waiting to upgrade my brakes and do it all at once since the wheel will already be off and the rotors being swapped.
If you put a 10mm spacer on you're looking at getting maybe
2 rotations. Completely unsafe. If you go 10 or 15mm spacer you
Will need either extended lugs or the bolt on (type 2) spacer.
Type 2's are the preferred of the two due to a more secure fit.
