As mentioned previously, I lived the heyday of the 1960's muscle car era, owning several. None "turned fast". These cars were limited by inferior steering/suspension technology where "handling" meant stiffer springs and shocks. Other than the Corvette IRS, the most advanced suspensions came from Oldsmobile on its 442, the first to used tuned front and rear sway bars.
The other, major limiting factor was the very inferior tire technology of the day.
The handling and steering of today's muscle cars are light-years ahead of those from the 1960's.
