So then they wanted me to go 18x or do AH-64 repair this way with repairman I could meet officers and get recommendations. I chose not to go because I still wouldnt be guaranteed a try.

That sucks. I had a flight slot, but then Clinton had all of the cutbacks and my unit got axed. They said I could stay in at the time (I was in the Reserves by this point, but I was active duty reserve where by I worked there everyday), but I had to drive 200 miles or move to where the new unit was. Not to mention my flight slot was in the 64 but would have been changed to the Chinook (mobile home with rotors), NO THANKS.
