DEALER says Ichiba 20mm Type 2 Bolt-On Wheel Spacers are DANGEROUS!?
***MY FAULT: EXACT SPACER ON WHEEL IS Ichiba 20mm Type 2 Bolt-On Wheel Spacers***
So, I have another post about my car stumbling when it sits for awhile and you go to start it. As suggested, I took it to the dealer ASAP. I dropped it off yesterday at 11:00 AM and told the service manager about the issue and also asked him to check out my camber and alignment, as I detected un-even wear on my tires. Well, the guy calls me yesterday at about 4:30 and says they can't find anything wrong with the engine to cause the stumbling and didn't think it was a severe issue. However, the Level 4 Nissan tech that road force balanced my rims was very concerned about the spacers that were installed. He mentioned that the spacers were starting to dig into the rim and that this type of spacer is VERY dangerous to have on and will cause the wheel to fail eventually. He noted that the spacer had begun to dig into the rim and its forcing the axle and tires to not "flex" properly. he also noted that this is why the wheel got a bit shaky at highway speeds. Any thoughts on this...anyone else have these spacers?? I just don't want to take them off if he is being dramatic/jealous because they make the stance look so much more aggressive on the car.
