Another option could be a screw removal kit.
However, if they put too much sticky chemical on the screw, it might not come out.
When I replaced my accelerator pedal, the bolts were in so tight that I sheared the heads off of them and they were recessed. Then with a proper screw removal kit and drill, they were stuck in so bad that the bits broke in the removal process.
I eventually had AAM look at it. They left those bolts as they were and drilled new holes and ordered new bolts to keep my accelerator down.
Nightmare. 150 dollar pedals cost me 600 bux.
But you might want to look at a screw removal kit or ask a garage (with a machining shop) to take a look at it.
