Got the following from the Highways guy:
Well I can't speak of the section from Sombrio river south to Jordan River. But from Somrbio north to Port Renfrew, the Highway has been completely repaved. At Sombrio, the switch back still remains, and there is still a washout that results in single lane traffic on a corner just south of there with limited visibility. It's signed accordingly, just go slow. I don't believe there's any bump at this location though, just half the road missing, so should be easily passable with your cars.
I haven't been involved with the repair works from Sombrio south to Jordan River, but I'm sure they would have graded and paved those small detours out by now. I know a couple of the bad washout sites would still have detours in the road, but the surface of the detour should be paved.
