Hi all. Long time lurker, first time poster. I'll try to make this sweet, but get to the point!
I'm looking at a 2009 6Spd Touring Sport
Listed: 31K
Negotiated price: $ 27,800ish before TTL
Mileage: 20,000
Options:
- Carpeted floor mats and trunk
- Trunk cargo cover netting
- Heated seats
- Power seats
- Comes with 2 sets of tires/rims (Winter / Summer)
- Sport package.
Here is the big kicker. It was reported to have 1 accident by the previous (sole) owner. The report was that there was a collision with an object (tree).
While I was there, the dealer called the previous owner to get more information about the accident. They didn't answer, but the next day (today), I called the dealer and they said the man called them back and said that the car slipped on ice (the date of the accident was 3/18 in Wisconsin) while he was parking the car on a hill and slid into a tree. The air bags did deploy.
I told them that this is all contingent on me taking the car to a location of my choosing (I know a shop that has specialty equipment to check for frame issues), and them paying me back for the information.
The last thing I want is there to be a weak spot in the frame, and me getting in an accident and kicking the bucket, or the airbags not being re-installed or the deployment device isn't properly calibrated. The cost of the fix to the car was ~$2200. I believe it was the front of the car and the bumper was replaced. The Auto Report (carfax knockoff?) that they gave us said that there was no title rebuild or any frame issues.
Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks,
It's me OC
