I guess I jinxed myself with that “beating up on mustangs” quip in my first post… There were some seriously fast Mustangs in HPDE 2. I had to give a lot of point byes to a crazy SVT Cobra and another seriously crazy Shelby. The Shelby pulled harder on me in the back straight than the Z06 in the group.
One sad note was an overzealous driver in group 1 who may have totaled his car. He went too fast into turn 2, got his outside wheels in the dirt, overcorrected without easing off the throttle, and when he finally got all four wheels on the track shot like a pinball into the inside wall.
What was he driving?

Man that scares me. I'm going to Track Daze at summit point in may, and I'm debating whether to blow the money on hpde insurance. I almost had myself convinced that I'd be alright without it, then I see this...
