I believe it was indeed an issue, either that or just the dealership trying to bluff my girlfriend into always having her oil changed there so they could gouge her.
She told me when she bought the car the dealership told her she had to have all of her servicing done at the dealership while the car was under warranty or she could run into problems...
I'm not sure if this is legitimate or not, my girl doesn't know much about cars, just which ones she likes.
