If it's just hinding the imperfections, there are similar "glazes" out there. They usually last a few weeks before you have to re-apply though.
Stick to the tried and true methods. It's a lot more work, but the right way of doing things often take a lot of work.

After 2 subsequent years of weather (Florida), washes and waxings, the car that I first used Polish-1 on (for the water spots) was still clear and had a good shine until I traded it in on this Z. It wasn't black, but dark silver.
