I work for BMW and have now for 3 years since graduating school, our cars tend to go anywhere from 12,15k between oil changes. In that time the engines use about 1.5 to 2qts that we top up when the customer comes in.

I've worked in quite a few dealerships that routinely billed in hour increments when a job took 10 minutes. Dealerships charge by what their book tells them to charge. If the bok says the job should take 2 hours, and the tech finishes it in 65 minutes, guess what? Customer is billed for 2 hours.
Just because you get paid 8 hours doesn't mean the dealership didn't bill 12 hours for your labor.
