Chris is talking about a single sensor that both harnesses could connect to, thus negating the need for a t-adapter and both aftermarket and OEM sensors to cut down on hardware used. It would send both variable signal for exact voltage (for the aftermarket gauge) and a yes/no signal for the OEM bus to read as 'ok' or 'low pressure'.
It's simpler to just use the T-adapter. An extension tube can be used if you want to mount the sender remotely a few inches away, but I'm not sure where you'd secure it.
