I was up there last winter for x-mas. I had forgotten how much it sucked.

Actually Michigan itself wasn't bad at all (about what I remembered). The trip was completely jacked both ways though.

Also, Oklahoma is colder. Michigan, at least when it gets cold, you get used to it. The snow acts as a kind of insulator...

Oklahoma - it's freezing-nuts cold, then 50 later in the day, then snowing 2-3" overnight without any real road-clearing support...instead they dump a small amount of salt and sand on the roads - just enough to p!ss it off, after the snow is already down, it melts a bit during the day, then freezes overnight...cold enough that the moisture in the air also freezes to it...the end result is that the roads are literally covered in 1-2" of ice, and you end up with a two-track for your lane that is basically two ice-ruts. If you get in them and stay in them, more than likely you'll be OK as long as you don't need to stop quickly...or turn to avoid anything...lol

We've also have some odd freezing - I'll go out in the morning to find my truck *encased* in ice, sometimes up to a 1/4" thick - lol...
