My mom was a general contractor on top of owning lots of property.
I began doing framing, demolition, drywall, electrical, plumbing, and finishing carpentry at age 10 or so.
Its in the blood on my moms side. At age 3 my mom got me my first tool set.
The next day she saw water streaming from under the bathroom door. She walked in and found me with my tool set. I disconnected the water line to the toilet, separated the tank from the toilet and loosened the base from the wax flange in the floor. lol.
Anyway,
The part about working with a a drywaller that was an ex coke runner is true. His name was Jimmy and he taught me mudding tricks and tips that I've used to this day. He is still the best mudder I've ever seen.
