You guys probably didn't even notice that I was gone, but it was an excruciatingly long week for me. While I was on my "hiatus" from the370Z.com, I had some time for introspection and exploration of the world outside of the forum. Here's five things I learned:
- I have developed an un-suppressible interest in Asian girls and I‘ve found myself spending a lot of my free time at the Phuc Dom Long Diang market and pho restaurant. I’ve become a creeper who is pretending to enjoy pho.
- Budapest used to be two different cities, Buda and Pest, separated by the Danube River. They became one city in 1836. Seven bridges span the Danube, all of which have been destroyed and rebuilt during the various wars and conflicts that traveled through Hungary. I caught up on a DVR full of Anthony Bourdain’s No Reservations and actually retained some of what I watched since I wasn’t multi-tasking on the370Z.com.
- The guys at Club Roadster are serious about their JDM. I have big plans for my retro-roadster project Miata… plans that involve knockoff wheels. In this case, I will have to let go of my principles because the authentic vintage JDM wheels I’m looking for are basically unobtainable.
- Nobody wants to play Word Association II with me in real life.
- There is no better source of information about the Nissan 370Z and no better community for its owners than the370Z.com and people who are not part of our community just don’t get it.
I thought about returning to the community with one of those scripted press conference apologies that are so popular with celebrities and politicians. You know, the apologies that include key phrases such as “deeply sorry”, “my regrettable actions” and “I was wrong”; But I figured you would all see right through that baloney, so I decided to maintain my WINNING attitude and tell it like it is.
What I did was wrong, and even without reading the rulebook from cover to cover, common sense told me that I was probably going to earn the wrath of the powers that be with the thread and poll I created. I was trying to be funny, but my actions took a direct shot at another member who, quite frankly, didn’t need my help to generate laughter or facepalms. I took it too far and crossed the line, and the administration of the370Z.com was fair and just in dealing out sanctions against me. At the end of the day, it was me with egg on my face. Or is that washer fluid on my windshield?
