In NY, the officer issuing the ticket ISN'T required to be present in court at the time of your scheduled hearing should you decide to fight the ticket. If you do fight the ticket in person, your fine is likely to be reduced. With the right lawyer, you might fare a lot better. Check out Casey Raskob. Good luck

You are dead on right red6spd, you'll get a $300 DMV surcharge for excessive speed and be required to sign a letter stating that you won't be speeding ever again in the state.
